Restoration eligibility review
Assessment of the dissolution history, applicant status, time limits and whether administrative or court restoration is likely to apply.
Company recovery and closure support
Accounting, tax and Companies House support for UK directors, shareholders and creditors navigating restoration, solvent closure or insolvency.
Overview
A dissolved company may need to be restored to recover assets, continue trading, correct its filing record or pursue a claim. The route depends on why it was struck off, who is applying, when dissolution occurred and the company’s previous activity.
Where a company is closing, its solvency determines whether an MVL, CVL, compulsory liquidation or another route is appropriate. CBM prepares reliable financial and tax information and coordinates with solicitors or licensed insolvency practitioners where regulated work is required.

Frequently asked questions
Every situation is different. These answers provide a practical starting point, and we confirm the position after reviewing the facts.
Ask our team a questionNo. Eligibility depends on who applies, why the company was struck off, whether it was operating and the date of dissolution. A voluntary strike-off normally requires the court route.
Administrative restoration and most court-restoration applications are generally subject to a six-year limit, although exceptions can apply.
An MVL is for a solvent company whose debts can be paid in full within the required period. A CVL is used when a company cannot pay its debts.
Formal voluntary liquidation requires an authorised insolvency practitioner. CBM can prepare the accounting and tax information and coordinate with that specialist.
Company property and rights may pass to the Crown as bona vacantia. Restoration or a waiver process may be needed before assets can be recovered.
